Stoneware Baking Dishes Made for Oven to Table: Meet the Mira Collection

Terrea Home

Every dinner has a moment that decides how the evening feels. The oven door opens, the kitchen fills with the smell of something golden, and the dish has to make the short trip from the rack to the table.

If it arrives in a scratched metal tray, the food does all the work alone. If it arrives in a dish worth looking at, dinner has already started.

That moment is why we made the Mira Collection: stoneware baking dishes made in Portugal, with open handles you can really hold and reactive glazes that make every piece one of a kind. It is oven-to-table bakeware in the most literal sense.

A ceramic baking dish with handles you can actually grip

Most baking dishes give you a thin rim or a small lug to pinch. With a thick oven glove on and three litres of lasagne inside, that is not much to hold on to.

Mira's handles are open. Your fingers go through them and wrap around, so you lift the dish with your whole hand, the way you would carry a tray. They are formed as part of the dish itself, and they follow the soft waved edge that runs around every Mira piece.

It feels like a small detail until the first time you carry a full, hot dish across the kitchen. After that, it is the detail you look for.

Reactive glaze bakeware: no two dishes alike

Mira is finished in reactive glaze. In the heat of the kiln the glaze moves: colour gathers in the curves, breaks lighter over the edges, and settles into tones nobody can fully predict. If the technique is new to you, our guide to reactive glaze dinnerware explains how it works.

So no two Mira bakers are the same. Yours will have its own depth and its own markings. These variations are not flaws. They are the signature of the process, and the reason a Mira dish looks made rather than manufactured.

The collection comes in four colours:

  • Forest Green: a deep, rich green that looks at home next to roast vegetables.
  • Ivory: a warm off-white that goes with everything already on your table.
  • Seafoam: a fresh blue-green, light and coastal.
  • Midnight Blue: a deep blue that makes golden crusts stand out.

Which baking dish size do you need?

Baking dish Size (cm) Capacity Reach for it when
Square Baker 31 × 24 × 7 1.5 L You are cooking for two, or need a side dish or a tray of brownies
Medium Rectangular Baker 34 × 21 × 7 1.75 L It is a weeknight and there is a gratin or baked pasta to make
Oval Baker 41 × 27 × 8 2.5 L There is a roast, or vegetables to share from the middle of the table
Large Rectangular Baker 41 × 25 × 8 3 L The whole table wants lasagne

Every Mira baking dish is oven safe to 350 °C (662 °F) and safe for the microwave, the dishwasher, the fridge and the freezer. The glaze contains no lead or cadmium and stands up to everyday cutlery.

That means one dish does three jobs. You cook in it, you serve in it, and what is left goes into the fridge in it. Fewer things to wash, and nothing to decant.

Why choose TERREA HOME stoneware bakeware

  • It is made in Portugal. Mira is produced in Portugal, a country with a long tradition of ceramic manufacturing, from durable stoneware meant for daily use.
  • It is designed around how you cook. Open handles for a secure grip, generous depth for sauces, and a 350 °C limit, above what most home ovens can reach.
  • It belongs on the table. The waved edge and the reactive glaze were drawn to be seen, so the dish that cooked the meal is the one that presents it.
  • Yours is the only one like it. Reactive glaze means the piece you unpack exists once.
  • It matches the rest of your table. Mira sits naturally beside our dinnerware collections, including the reactive stoneware of Silhouette.
  • The price is fair. Mira starts at €36.99 for the Square Baker and goes up to €42.99 for the largest pieces, for a dish you will reach for every week.

Frequently asked questions

Can a stoneware baking dish go straight from the oven to the table?

Yes. Mira is designed for exactly that, and the open handles make the trip easy. Put a trivet or board under the hot dish to protect your table.

Is Mira bakeware dishwasher safe?

Yes. Every Mira baking dish is dishwasher safe and microwave safe.

What temperature can a Mira baking dish take?

Mira is oven safe to 350 °C (662 °F), more than roasting, gratins, baked pasta or home baking will ask of it.

What size baking dish do I need for lasagne?

For a full family lasagne, choose the Large Rectangular Baker: 41 × 25 × 8 cm, with a 3 litre capacity. For two or three people, the Medium Rectangular Baker at 1.75 litres is enough.

Can I store leftovers in the same dish?

Yes. Mira is fridge and freezer safe. As with any stoneware, avoid sudden temperature changes: let a chilled dish come up to room temperature before it goes into a hot oven.

What is reactive glaze, and is it food safe?

Reactive glaze changes in the kiln, creating natural variations in colour, tone and texture, so each piece is unique. Mira glazes contain no lead or cadmium.

Bring it to the table

The next time the oven door opens, let the dish be part of the meal. Choose your shape, choose your colour, and carry it straight to the people waiting.
